Why does ResumeAI request browser permissions?
ResumeAI requests only the minimum permissions needed to extract job descriptions from supported pages. Here is exactly what each permission is used for.
activeTab
Used to access the currently open LinkedIn or Indeed job page when you click the extension icon. ResumeAI reads the tab you are actively viewing โ it does not access any other tabs.
scripting
Used to extract the job description text from the supported job page. This allows ResumeAI to read the job title, company name, and description so it can tailor your resume accordingly.
storage
Used to save your extension preferences locally in your browser โ such as your preferred resume template or server URL. Nothing is transmitted to external servers via this permission.
tabs
Used to identify whether the current tab is a supported job page (LinkedIn or Indeed). This determines whether the extension UI is active or disabled for the given tab.
๐ No background monitoring
ResumeAI does not monitor your browsing activity, read page content outside of supported job pages, or transmit any data without your explicit action (clicking "Tailor Resume").
