ResumeAI may process:

  • Resume files uploaded by users
  • Job descriptions submitted by users
  • Content extracted from supported job application pages
  • User-provided API keys (when BYOK support becomes available)

Information is used solely for:

  • Resume tailoring
  • PDF generation
  • Improving platform functionality

4. Data Storage

ResumeAI does not permanently store uploaded resumes or job descriptions after processing unless explicitly required for platform functionality. Uploaded documents may be temporarily retained during processing and are not kept beyond what is needed to complete your request.

5. Third-Party Services

ResumeAI uses third-party AI services including Microsoft Azure OpenAI. Uploaded content may be transmitted to these services solely for processing and generation purposes. Future integrations may include Google Gemini, OpenRouter, and Mistral — this policy will be updated accordingly.

6. Browser Extension Permissions

The ResumeAI extension requests the following browser permissions:

  • activeTab — access to the currently active job posting page
  • scripting — extraction of job description content
  • storage — saving extension preferences
  • tabs — interaction with supported job sites

7. Security

Reasonable technical measures are taken to protect user information during processing and transmission. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; however, we strive to use commercially acceptable safeguards.
